10 Facts about 2019 Taxes

  1. Any individual who files a 2019 tax return and made LESS THAN 75K in 2019 will get a stimulus check for $1200.  Any couple who files a 2019 tax return and made LESS THAN 150K will get a stimulus check for $2400.

  2. If you have a child – and qualify as the guardian or parent on that child – you will get an additional $500 per child.

  3. MOST PEOPLE DON’T OWE TAXES on low income amounts.  Don’t NOT file just because you think you might owe taxes.

  4. If you DO OWE TAXES, you can make a payment arrangement with the IRS to pay your balance over the next 5 years.  If you owed $1000, that would be around $20 a month.

  5. There is NO QUESTION on the 1040 form that asks what you do for employment or who you work for.  The only questions regarding employment is “occupation” and you can state that you are self-employed. It’s that simple.

  6. Everything you have read – about our community members not being eligible for the stimulus check is NOT TRUE.  This false information is being circulated widely and there is no indication that independent workers or “gig” workers will not get a stimulus check.  Adult oriented BUSINESSES like Porn companies and Cam Platforms, will not be eligible for the BUSINESS stimulus LOAN for 10K to pay their workers.

  7. EVERYONE who files a 2019 tax return will get a stimulus check.  If you DON’T file a 2019 return, you will definitely NOT get a stimulus check because they won’t know where to send it.

  8. Filing your taxes is a relatively easy process if you made less than 69K in 2019.  You can pick anyone of the FREE FILE options on the IRS.gov website by answering a few simple questions about where you live, how much you made and if you get any tax credits like Earned Income Tax Credit or if you are Active Duty Military. Use the FREE LOOK UP Tool to figure out which service best suits your needs.

  9. UPDATED INFORMATION – People who are on social security or disability WILL receive a stimulus check AUTOMATICALLY.  The IRS will use the information on the Form SSA-1099 or Form RRB-1099 to generate Economic Impact Payments to recipients of benefits reflected in the Form SSA-1099 or Form RRB-1099 who are not required to file a tax return and did not file a return for 2018 or 2019. This includes senior citizens, Social Security recipients and railroad retirees who are not otherwise required to file a tax return.BUT – if you have a dependent, the IRS would not have information regarding these dependents because the above forms do not include information about these dependents so each person would receive $1,200 per person on social security or disability, WITHOUT the additional amount for any dependents at this time.

  10. If the IRS doesn’t have your direct deposit information – and you have ALREADY filed your 2019 return – they will be opening a portal to enter your banking information within the next 7-10 days and you can enter it there.  iF you are filing using one of the free services, you will have a chance to put the banking information in there.
